Job Description

This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a tangible difference in diverse communities while confidently navigating both formal and informal environments within the housing and homelessness space across the Rockhampton Region, Livingstone, and Banana Shires.



Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to engage with diverse individuals and settings, from council members in office to families in crisis.
  • Proven experience in securing funding through grants and partnerships.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a practical approach to housing issues in the region.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in community development, social work, or public administration.

Key responsibilities:

  • Engaging with community members to identify their needs and concerns.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to address the identified issues.
  • Collaborating with local organizations, businesses, and government agencies to secure resources and support for projects.
  • Organising and facilitating community meetings, workshops, and other events to promote community involvement.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the progress of development projects, adjusting plans as needed.
  • Preparing reports and presentations to communicate project results and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Assisting in securing funding for community development initiatives through grant applications and fundraising activities.
