Classroom Teacher - German Speaking

January Start - Full time - Ongoing
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated bilingual German-speaking teacher to join a amazing primary school team. This is an exciting opportunity to teach primary years in a classroom setting, with instruction split equally between English and German (50% in each language). The role will commence in January (Term 1) and is ongoing. Applicants must be fluent in German and have experience teaching or a strong commitment to supporting bilingual learning.
In this position, you will create and deliver engaging educational programs tailored to the needs of primary students. Fluency in German is essential for delivering lessons effectively in both languages, ensuring a bilingual learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lesson Planning and Delivery: Design and deliver lessons in both English and German, ensuring that content is engaging and accessible for all students.
- Bilingual Support: Provide language support to students in both English and German, fostering a bilingual environment.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, promoting respectful and effective learning in both languages.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work with support staff, parents, and specialists to ensure the educational needs of all students are met.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional learning, staying updated with best practices in bilingual education.
Skills & Experience:
- Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
- Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
- Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Demonstrate previous experience as a Teacher - Graduates are welcome to apply too!
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
