Early Childhood Centre Cook - South Suburbs

About the Role:
Are you a cook looking for a new role? Tradewind are recruiting for casual and permanent staff for Early Childhood Centres across the Southern Suburbs of Melbourne. If you are qualified and have experience working as a cook/chef then we would love to chat with you!
Key duties:
Your role as centre cook will involve the following:
· Being responsible for the stocktaking, ordering, planning and preparation of all food, taking into account dietary requirements, allergens and nutritional needs of children
· A strong understanding and implementation of food safety standards, allergens and safe food practices
· Consistently maintaining an exceptionally clean and organised kitchen, including the regular cleaning of appliances, equipment and surfaces.
· Ensuring the safety of children at all times
· Being creative in your weekly menu design, with the ability to include a range of nutritional foods, cuisines and cultures - including celebration foods
· Engaging the children in healthy food choices and healthy eating guidelines
· Being a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all ages
Skills & Experience:
As centre cook, you will hold:
· Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification (or ACEQUA approved Early Childhood Qualification)
· Working with Children Check
· Food Handling Certificate
· Completed or willing to complete a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
· Previous experience working as a centre cook highly desirable
· COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
· Level 2 First Aid Certificate
· Anaphylaxis Certificate
· CPR Certificate
· Asthma Certificate
