Exciting Leadership Opportunity: Chief Executive Officer (First Nations Identified Role)
Brisbane or Sunshine Coast | Permanent role | Hours negotiable | SCHADS Award Level 7
We're seeking a visionary and purpose-driven leader to step into a Chief Executive Officer role at a First Nations community-controlled organisation/peak body, advocating for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with disability across Queensland.
As CEO, you will shape the future of an emerging peak body committed to creating culturally safe, inclusive, and rights-based systems of support. You'll lead a small, passionate team and work closely with a committed Board to amplify community voices and drive systemic change.
Key Focus Areas:
Strategic leadership, program development, and operational excellence
Policy and systems advocacy aligned with the CRPD and Indigenous rights
Strong community and stakeholder engagement
Governance, compliance, and risk management
Financial stewardship and organisational growth
We're looking for someone who:
Is a proud First Nations person with lived experience of their own disability
Brings strong leadership experience within the social, community, or disability sectors
Has a deep understanding of the rights, interests, and cultural needs of mob with disabilities
Can build relationships, lead with heart, and deliver on outcomes
