Job Description:
A leading educational institution is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Asset Accountant to join its finance team on a part-time basis (0.4 FTE). This role is responsible for managing the lifecycle of physical and financial assets, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational goals. Reporting to the College Accountant, the successful candidate will drive effective asset management practices and provide valuable insights through asset reporting and analysis.
Key Duties:
Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate documentation of acquisitions, disposals, and transfers.
Calculate and apply appropriate depreciation methods in line with accounting standards.
Perform monthly reconciliations of asset accounts, ensuring alignment with the general ledger.
Prepare and present detailed asset-related financial reports for management.
Skills and Experience:
1-3 years of experience in accounting or asset management.
Accounting qualification or equivalent demonstrated industry experience.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy.
Experience working in complex stakeholder environments.
