Our client are looking for an academic director to lead the Master of Social Work (Qualifying) course due to start in Semester 1 from the 10th March 2025.
Job Summary
- Lead academic oversight and ensure high-quality teaching and learning outcomes for Master of Social Work (Qualifying) course.
- Drive continuous improvement in compliance with Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) standards.
- Collaborate with executive teams and committees to foster academic excellence and innovative practices.
Job Description
Key Duties
- Provide strategic leadership for Social Work courses, ensuring compliance with AASW/ASWEAS standards and delivering innovative teaching practices.
- Oversee social work placements, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of curriculum design and delivery.
- Engage in research, scholarship, and collaboration with professional associations and industry partners to enhance Social Work education.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Higher degree qualification in Social Work, with demonstrated leadership experience.
- Strong professional record in social work practice and teaching.
- Proven ability to lead academic and professional staff effectively.
- Evidence of research and publication contributions in Social Work.
Desirable
- PhD in Social Work and significant teaching experience at a tertiary level.
- Familiarity with the ESOS Framework and National Code 2018 (or willingness to acquire knowledge).
- Experience with course design, curriculum innovation, and accreditation processes.
