Where are you from?

Christchurch, New Zealand

What's your past work experience?

I have worked as a primary school teacher around New Zealand for the past seven years. Originally full time with my own class for two years, before travelling and moving around the country working as a relief teacher for five years. I also spent the holiday periods trying out new opportunities in industries such as hospitality, retail, and labouring.

Tell us about yourself...

I have a passion for education and supporting people to reach their full potential through compassionate service and helping others become connected with their values, strengths, and desires. In 2021, I studied towards a postgraduate certificate in counselling with the goal of making mental health services more accessible. A skillset I plan to utilise here at Tradewind through supporting teachers through the tough days as well as the good ones.

Outside of work I am a keen photographer, enjoy keeping up with the latest fashion trends, listening to new music and having a boogie on the dance floor! I was a keen sportsman in both rugby and athletics before becoming injury prone and now just enjoy keeping fit by going to the gym.

I moved to Melbourne in February 2024. I am super excited to be a part of the team here at Tradewind and am really looking forward to getting to know everyone!

What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

Not really advice but a Maori proverb I connect with is "He aha te mea nui? Māku e kii atu, he tāngata, he tāngata, he tāngata. - What is the most important thing in the world? Well, let me tell you, it is the people, it is the people, it is the people".
