About the Role:

An intersectional, feminist organisation committed to addressing and challenging the inequities arising from gender oppression, providing short-term intensive support, crisis accommodation, and outreach services to family violence victim survivors.

The Senior Practitioner will provide practice leadership and professional supervision to an integrated team of specialist family violence practitioners, family violence children's practitioners, and support workers. You will also support the organisation to develop and implement an appropriate outreach model.

This is one of two roles working across a rotating roster to support a 24/7 crisis accommodation service with shifts between 7am-7pm Monday to Friday plus oncall requirements.


Key duties:

  • Deliver regular supervision and support to family violence practitioners and support staff.
  • Provide exceptional team leadership, promoting an environment that empowers and motivates staff to achieve service goals.
  • Provide practice leadership and case consultation.
  • Support victim survivors through effective risk assessment, case management, and crisis response.
  • Support the development of a clear and innovative model that provides outreach family violence services in community setting.

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's qualification in Social Work.
  • Proven leadership skills with a minimum 2-years experience working at a senior or leadership level.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of the issues surrounding family/domestic violence and a commitment to improving the safety of victim survivors in the community.
  • Knowledge of key legislative, policy, and practice frameworks relevant to family violence including MARAM Framework, Information Sharing, and Child Safe Standards.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of trauma informed, client centred and strengths-based models when working with women and children.
  • Availability to work a 9-day fortnight on a rotating roster with shared oncall responsibilities.

You will also have or be willing to obtain a Victorian Drivers Licence, Working with Children Check and Police Check.
