About the Role:
An exciting opportunity awaits a full-time Religious Education (RE) teacher to guide students in a Catholic School located in Caroline Springs, within the western suburbs of Melbourne. This position is specifically designed for instructing students in years 7-9, with the commencement in Term 3. Join a wonderful and well respected school within the local community.

Key duties:

  • Designing and developing lesson plans and instructional materials in alignment with the Catholic religious education curriculum.
  • Integrating Catholic teachings, doctrines, and values into lesson plans to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the faith.
  • Conducting engaging and informative classes to impart knowledge of Catholic theology, scripture, and religious traditions.
  • Facilitating discussions, activities, and reflective exercises to encourage students' critical thinking and personal spiritual growth.
  • Providing pastoral support and guidance to students, fostering a supportive and empathetic learning environment.
  • Collaborating with parents, guardians, and the broader community to strengthen the connection between religious education and students' lived experiences.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development to stay abreast of developments in Catholic theology, religious education pedagogy, and educational best practices.
  • Exhibit unwavering dedication to continuous professional growth and development, staying attuned to the evolving educational landscape.

Skills & Experience:

  • Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
  • Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching RE in a secondary setting
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
