About the Role:
Are you a passionate Secondary PE educator who lives and breathes sports? Tradewind is excited to announce a partnership with an F-9 school in Tarneit, presenting a fantastic opportunity to teach PE to students from years 7-9. This full-time, ongoing role offers flexibility with a start date this term, allowing you to hit the ground running. Key duties:

  • Designing and implementing engaging and developmentally appropriate PE lessons that align with the Victorian Curriculum.
  • Providing clear instruction and demonstration of movement skills, sports techniques, and fitness exercises.
  • Conducting physical fitness assessments to evaluate students' strength, flexibility, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness levels.
  • Ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment by implementing appropriate safety procedures and risk management strategies during physical activities and sports.
  • Organizing and maintaining PE equipment, sports gear, and facilities to ensure they are safe, functional, and accessible for students.
  • Integrating health education components into PE lessons to promote students' understanding of health-related topics such as nutrition, hygiene, mental health, and the benefits of physical activity.
  • Assessing students' progress and achievement in PE through various forms of assessment, such as skill demonstrations, performance tasks, fitness tests, and written assignments.

Skills & Experience:

  • Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Must have a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
  • Previous experience in teaching Secondary PE
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
