About the Role

As a Learning and Development Officer, you will play a crucial role in the organisation's talent development and growth strategy. Your responsibilities encompass a wide range of high-level capabilities that are essential to fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the company.

Key Accountabilities - Role Mastery

Facilitation and Delivery of Training

  • Conduct essential training in technical areas, including working with traumatised young people, legislation, leadership and other Safe Places-specific topics.
  • Coordinate the release of learning solutions to enhance leadership, behaviours, and performance.
  • Utilize various training modes and methods, occasionally involving interstate travel.
  • Contribute ideas for Learning & Development improvements and changes.
  • Assist in robust measurement and data evaluation for Learning and Development.

Learning Resource Development and Design

  • Review and update systems, tools, forms, and documentation for consistency.
  • Contribute to the design and development of learning materials, eLearning, and training resources.
  • Design tools and resources for managers aligned with the 70:20:10 model.

Collates Learning Needs and Outcomes

  • Collaborate with other departments to align learning with organisational strategy.
  • Liaise with external providers for supporting Safe Places learners.
  • Apply a consultative approach to program development.
  • Seek input on learning needs and provide high-level customer service to all teams.
  • Participate in operational meetings and seek standardised L&D requests.
  • Liaise with the RTO partner to support and assist Cert IV students.
  • Support the redesign and continuous improvement of RTO processes and assessment materials.

This role requires upholding confidential information in trust and confidence, working within Safe Places Vision, Mission, Values and Code of Conduct. For this role you may be required to perform other duties as assigned by the direct line manager.

About You:

Essential Experience and Qualifications to include:

  • Hold a Diploma or higher-level qualification in a Community Service.
  • Have 2 years' experience working with young people in a residential care.
  • 12-months' experience in a training or coaching.
  • Be an excellent communicator and ability to build strong connections with others.
  • Experience in the design, development, implementation and evaluation of Induction programs.
  • Confidently facilitate a workshop and utilise a variety of learning methods to support the transfer of learning.
  • Apply data to assist in decision making.
  • Meet deadlines whilst applying strong prioritisation skills to ensure the attention is on L&D interventions that impact the business in the short-term and long-term.
  • Enthusiasm and drive for learning.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (verbal, written and listening) with the ability to confidently and communicate and interact with all team members to quickly build rapport with Stakeholders.

Desirable :

  • Hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 or willing to obtain.
  • Hold a Diploma in Training and Assessment TAE40116.
  • Leadership experience and skills from previous roles or through qualification to be able to successfully deliver leadership and soft skills training programs.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience with not for profit/charitable organisation from previous employment or tenure with Safe Places.

Candidates must be eligible to live and work in Australia, hold an unrestricted driver's licence, and must be willing to undergo state specific checks (details to be provided), including eligibility to work with Children and Qualifications.
