About the Role:
We are recruiting for an ECT qualified, Early Childhood Educational Leader to work in an Early Learning Centre, attached to a College.


Key duties:

  • Lead the service team with the Director, providing a clear vision and support for delivering high-quality programs for children and families.
  • Encourage a learning culture based on participatory democracy, respecting all staff's rights to share their thoughts.
  • Foster open, positive, and collaborative communication within the service community.
  • Build a team focused on reflective practice and professional growth for continuous improvement.
  • Create and maintain a Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) with feedback from the team, families, and community.
  • Guide the team through assessment and rating processes.
  • Assist the Director in staff performance appraisals and professional development planning.
  • Operate ethically and professionally to meet regulatory requirements and align with approved policies and procedures.


Skills & Experience:

  • Understand modern theories of early childhood learning and various learning styles.
  • Know contemporary curriculum approaches, including approved frameworks.
  • Understand laws governing childcare and quality standards.
  • Know and support ethical codes and conduct guidelines.
  • Inspire and motivate staff.
  • Coach and mentor in creating effective educational programs.
  • Develop teachers' pedagogical skills.
  • Lead reflective discussions on program delivery.
  • Help document teaching intentions and decisions.
  • Advocate for children's holistic development.
  • Manage time well and work independently.
  • Advocate for children's needs in the community.
  • Promote the benefits of early childhood education.
  • Advocate for the early childhood profession.
  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders.


Desired Skills & Experience:


  • A suitable qualification for this role e.g. Early Childhood Teacher as approved by ACECQA in accordance with the Regulations. Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood or equivalent.
  • Full registration with VIT - Victorian Institute of Teaching
  • Experience working in education and care services.
  • A current approved first aid qualification, approved anaphylaxis management qualification and approved emergency asthma management qualification.
